Filter on Explanation database overview Use the filters and the search field to select the databases and online sources that are most suitable for answering your information question. Click on the + behind the title for the description of the source to assess its relevance and for additional information. Click on the source title to access and search the source itself. Find a database using the search field Search field that allows you to find resources in this overview. You search in the titles, descriptions, keywords and subjects that the library has applied. You search automatically on word variants (both left and right truncation). E.g. if you search for governmental, you will also find nongovernmental and with the search term material, you will also find materials. Typing in more search terms leads to a narrowing of the search result (automatic "AND" combination). For example, if you search for United Nations, you will not find United States. Finding relevant databases using the three selection filters You can select more than one item in a filter. This will broaden the search result (the selected items are combined with: "OR"). You can also apply multiple filters at the same time, thus limiting the search result (filters are combined with: "AND"). 1. Language contents database Selecting Dutch will return resources with content in Dutch. Selecting English will return resources with English content. Nothing checked: all resources (Dutch or English content or both). 2. Subjects All sources are categorised according to one or more subject areas / fields of study such as "Economics" or "Law". There are also sources whose content is general / multidisciplinary in nature. By selecting more than one item, you can broaden your search. 3. Information type All sources are categorised according to one or more information types, such as "E-books" or "Articles: scientific". Selecting more than one item will broaden the search result.
