Meet & Match at European Studies
Welcome to the Meet & Match information page for European Studies. Thank you so much for choosing our programme. We are really looking forward to meeting you and would like to use this page to inform you about our Meet & Match event on 28 June. The Meet & Match is an opportunity to Meet some of your classmates and teachers and to get more information about the programme to make sure that European Studies is the right match for you.
You will receive an official invitation and other invitation at the start of June so be sure to check your e-mail regularly.
What and when?
- What: Meet & Match
- Where: Johanna Westerdijkplein 75, 2521 EN The Hague
- When: Wednesday June 28
- Contact person: Mr Dave van Ginhoven (firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Lunch: will be provided
The programme for the Meet & Match has not been finalised so details are subject to change, but you can expect several information sessions, a tour of the building and we will be doing intake tests for modern foreign languages.
As you already know, all European Studies students follow French, German or Spanish.
Dutch students with a HAVO or VWO diploma are required to do this at an advanced level and usually continue with the language that was part of their secondary school exams. If you have a HAVO or VWO diploma and want to do a language that was NOT in your final exams, you must take an intake test.
International students and Dutch MBO students can choose a beginner’s course or an advanced course, but will have to take an intake test if they request an advanced course.
All students requesting advanced Spanish must take an intake test as well.
To summarise, you need to take an intake test if:
• You are have a HAVO/VWO diploma and want to do an advanced language that was not part of your secondary school diploma
• You are an international or MBO student and would like to do an advanced language
• You have requested advanced Spanish
Alternative activities will be offered for students who do not need to take a test.
