Centre of Expertise Global Governance
Academy of Global Governance Innovators
The Academy is a new initiative within the Centre of Expertise for Global Governance and focuses on innovative projects where students, lecturers, researchers, and practitioners collaborate, developing new solutions to emerging global challenges. As a platform for collaboration, the Academy offers unparalleled opportunities for students to expand their network, work on multidisciplinary projects, hone their skills, and broaden their knowledge about issues that will no doubt shape the future. In each project cycle, students are designing and creating concrete professional products, coached by leading experts within their respective field.
About the themeNo doubt - young people have a crucial part to play in advocating, campaigning and devising solutions for the current climate crisis. Youth agency, participation and collaboration is a transformative, yet sometimes marginalized, concept within discussions around the adaptation to and mitigation of climate change. Young people now have a moment to shift the dominant power structures in place and promote a climate change policy that works for their future. How can youth agency within the climate change policy movement encourage citizen participation? And what solutions can be designed and implemented to mitigate climate change? This is your chance to have your say and bring your creative and collaborative spirit and ideas to the table! The Academy is delighted to cooperate with the Netherlands Youth Movement for Climate in the frame of this project.
What does this mean for the participants? The Academy for Global Governance Innovators provides students with the opportunity to develop skills outside of the classroom and receive certificates of participation, demonstrating that students can understand and tackle practical challenges faced by current professionals. The coaching and exposure to experts offered by the Academy to students will expand their network as they work with experts and receive valuable insight and feedback. The programme’s multidisciplinary form allows for the development of critical and design thinking skills, applied research skills, campaigning, communication and organizational skills, policy drafting and publication advice.
