Industrial Design Engineering - English

You could be a fashion designer for ZARA and develop a 3D printing technology that produces a custom-made shoe sizes for customers. This is what you do after you complete the degree programme and begin working on real assignments. But as a young professional, you do much more. You discover, for example, the culture at ‘your’ company. You attend meetings and company parties and meet with colleagues. You also learn all there is to know about ‘your’ market - the latest developments, the competition and what they do. In other words, you learn what this profession involves on a daily basis.

Continue studying

You might be more academically inclined. If so, you will have the option to follow a Master after you graduate from IDE. Because of IDE’s specific programme, there are, as of yet, no masters at THUAS that can appropriately complement an IDE Bachelor. However our neighbours at the Delft University of Technology do offer three interesting alternatives which are all focused on design: Strategic Product design, Design for Interaction and Integrated Product Design.

Outside the Netherlands, IDE students can follow a Master in design directly after graduation just about anywhere in the world. Note however that in order to apply for a Master in the Netherlands, you will have to follow a premaster first. There are of course exceptions, such as the University of Eindhoven and the University of Enschede.
