The Hague University of Applied Sciences at 30

Let’s change. You. Us. The world. The Hague University of Applied Sciences has been doing this for 30 years. From its formation on 1 September 1987, THUAS has grown from 15 institutions into the most diverse and internationally oriented university of applied sciences in the Netherlands with 26,000 students and over 140 nationalities. Every year, we send 3,000 unique global citizens out into the world. These are people who think outside the box, people who really stand their ground and approach the world based on their own conviction. A number of our 75,000 alumni still live and work in The Hague or its surroundings and 15% live abroad.

We are a UNESCO University of Applied Sciences and the themes of peace and human rights, intercultural learning, world citizenship and sustainability are at the forefront of what we do. We have four campuses: The Hague, Delft, Zoetermeer and the brand-new Zuiderpark Sports Campus. This is something we are proud of.

Here you can find everything about our activities. You can also read more about the history of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. There are photos, videos, stories and much more. It would be great if you could share as many stories and photos as possible with us! #30yearsTHUAS @HagueUniversity

Visiting Old Friends 21th of April 2018

Final event in a year of celebrating THUAS' 30th anniversary is Visiting Old Friends, a homecoming event for alumni and (former) colleagues of our university and its 15 predecessors.

We will stop and think about what the university has meant for its students and society over the last 30 years and see how THUAS and its graduates and former staff members can stay relevant to each other.  It will be a day of exciting encounters, memories and looking ahead. Read more

Connected - the aftermovie 23 februari 2018

On Friday 23 February the third edition of Connected festival took place. A party for students and employees of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. With 2,500 visitors a lively atmosphere.

The Connected festival, organized by students of various programmes together with ACKU, reflected the 30th anniversary of THUAS. Besides looking back the festival aimed at connecting people and thinking about the future. The main building in The Hague was transformed into a real party location. With enormous screens and robots. With EDM music and DJ’s such as Julian Jordan and Mike Williams. There was also a real urban jungle full of cool jungle elements. Students organisations Pelargos, INTAC, HSV and InterAccess created a societal atmosphere with popular and carnival songs.
