Come visit our inspiration café ‘Brussels & the Town Hall’ on 2 June

On 2 June, our one-off inspiration café ‘Brussels & the Town Hall’ will open; the meeting place for everyone who is curious about making 'the European step' from their work for a local authority.

The café is full of interesting guests. We talk to them about questions such as: what influence does 'Brussels' have on local hot topics such as housing, sustainability and business? What can a local government administrator or politician do within the European Union? What are local authorities doing in the EU and why?

For many municipalities there is something to be gained by being active at European level. For example, by participating in subsidy projects or by influencing European policy. However, a real "Europe-consciousness" is often lacking among local officials. This is not surprising, because Europe seems quite complicated at first glance.

In our inspiration café we provide a programme full of inspiration to help you and your colleagues become more Europe-aware and Europe-skilled. The café is open to all interested parties, but will feel especially warm to policymakers working in one of the 344 town halls in the Netherlands.

A detailed programme of our inspiration café will follow in mid-April. Please reserve the time below in your diary!
Opening time: Thursday 2 June 2022, 2.00 to 5.15 p.m. (programme starts at 2.30 p.m.)
Location: The Hague University of Applied Sciences
Organiser: Changing Role of Europe / European Impact Hub Research Group
