Launch of the Idea2Impact Company programme

The first edition of the Idea2Impact Company programme starts at the end of March. In five fortnightly sessions, students and alumni from the Haaglanden region learn how to take their idea for an impact startup to the next level. During interactive workshops, participants will work with the entrepreneurship process under the guidance of facilitators from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship. They get inspired by successful impact entrepreneurs from The Hague, such as Sjoerd Trompetter of Naif, Ian Smeyers of Nelis Company, Stefan Baecke of Yespers, Sjoerd Hauptmeijer of The Young Digitals and Niels van den Bosch. Thanks to the support of ImpactCity from the municipality of The Hague, the programme can be followed free of charge.

Entrepreneurial ecosystem

From ImpactCity, Vereleyn Wondergem is involved in the Idea2Impact Company. “The Hague is the city for entrepreneurs who want to build a better world. With ImpactCity, the municipality of The Hague offers various opportunities for starting entrepreneurs with sustainable, innovative solutions. Idea2Impact Company focuses on the first phase of a start-up: after all, a better world starts with a good idea! We want to help entrepreneurial students and alumni turn their idea into a startup. The Idea2Impact Company programme, which we offer together with The Hague University of Applied Sciences and the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, is a good example of this.”

Best startups in and for the world

“More and more students and alumni want to work not only on the best startup in the world, but on the best startup for the world,” says Ronald Visser, programme manager of the Bachelor programme Entrepreneurship & Retail Management and closely involved in the Idea2Impact Company programme. He sees a powerful trend: “Entrepreneurship is so much more than making money. Creative entrepreneurs know how to combine business success with solutions for a better world. We are happy to help our students and alumni with this.”

The Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship (ECE) is also involved in the programme. Together with The Hague University of Applied Sciences, it is responsible for the content of the programme. Jip Dresia, programme coordinator at ECE, is pleased to be able to encourage entrepreneurship in the Hague region. “Entrepreneurship is the driving force behind renewal and innovation. We are proud to be able to contribute our expertise in the field of entrepreneurship competences and thereby contribute to a flying start of the next generation of impact entrepreneurs.”
