International Research Collaboration: sustainable and social local energy systems
The Data Science research group has been awarded funding for 2 projects from NWO and The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) under the Merian Fund scheme. The research projects are part of a cooperation programme between the Netherlands and China and will give the THUAS research group the opportunity to connect and collaborate with leading Chinese and Dutch universities. The projects will contribute to sustainable and social local energy systems. The theme is important for the Netherlands and China, and is also a challenge for countries all over the world. Both projects have a duration of 4 years.
Improving local energy systemsThe first project focuses on improving the functioning of local energy systems for neighbourhoods with high self-sufficiency and high engagement of the local residents. For this project, the Data Science research group is working together with Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Zhejiang Energy Group Co. Ltd., Brainport Smart District en Gemeente Zoetermeer.
The second project (DATALESs) concerns data analytics aiming to improve the operation of local energy systems from a cyber, physical and social perspective. The partners collaborating with THUAS in this project are Delft University of Technology, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Jibei Power Exchange Center Ltd. Co., PEPITe S.A. and Geodan.
