Head of the Research Group Technology for Health

As of 1 December 2021, Luc de Witte is the head of the Research Group Technology for Health at the Health Innovation Centre of Expertise. He succeeds Erwin de Vlugt, who left in September.

Luc de Witte has been involved in the development, evaluation and implementation of technology for health for many years. He is currently professor of Health Services Research at the Centre for Assistive Technology and Connected Healthcare (CATCH) at the University of Sheffield. Luc has previously worked, among other positions, as professor of Technology in Care at Maastricht University and a professor for the same subject at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen. He has extensive experience with innovations in healthcare in the field of long-term care: rehabilitation, elderly care, disability care and care for people with chronic illnesses.
