The first master class provided by our Centre of Expertise!
On Monday 7 December 2020 we held the master class “Responsible rebellion & responsible supervision: governance in collective housing for seniors”. More than 90 supervisors from healthcare organisations as well as housing cooperatives participated in this master class. The master class was organised by The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) together with Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), the Dutch Association for Supervisors in Care and Welfare (NVTZ), and the Organisation of Housing Association Supervisors (VTW).
This online master class covered the following topics:
What is a responsible rebellion? As a supervisor, how can you use this to achieve your objectives?
How can rebellious administrators contribute to creating new forms of housing for seniors? How can an organisation respond to innovation through rebellion and meet the needs and wishes of a very diverse group of elderly people?
As a supervisor, how do you address the obstacles encountered in governance when creating and managing innovative forms of housing?
What role do you play as a supervisor in terms of providing advice, being a discussion partner, and in helping to determine a strategy?
The master class is part of the SIA RAAK-mkb (SME) project “Towards Responsible Rebellion” (www.verantwoorderebellie.nl), which is funded by Taskforce for Applied Research SIA (Regieorgaan SIA). The findings of the research were presented and validated in the master class. Practical cases were discussed during a break-out session. The break-out sessions were led by several staff members of THUAS, EUR, and a number of consortium partners.
The project “Towards Responsible Rebellion” is a collaboration between the Centres of Expertise Health Innovation (Urban Ageing professor Joost van Hoof) and GUTs (Urban Development professor Katja Rusinovic) and the Erasmus University Rotterdam (Marianne van Bochove). Several public and SME partners are involved in the research as consortium partners. The findings of the supervisors who participated in the master class will be incorporated in a guide about responsible rebellion which will be available at the end of 2021.
The second master class will take place at the end of March. The theme of this master class is Governance of Collective Housing for Seniors.
