Student Blog: Woong Shin – Private Sector Internship Working with the Government in the Netherlands
With my 6-month internship now over, I am glad that I will now be able to continue my journey at The Next Web as a trainee! Working as the Government Program Executive at TNW X, the consultancy and advisory branch of TNW, I was able to have hands-on experiences on tasks and events which opened up a whole new world for me.
From carrying out research for the expansion of our government program to getting invited to events organized by governmental organizations such as The Korean Embassy, KOTRA, Ministerie van EZK, RVO, etc. I ventured through the commercial aspect of working with governments.
Most importantly, the ample amount of freedom and insight provided by my manager enabled me to draft proposals for governments, contact city, regional and national level governments to create business opportunities and take responsibility in business leads. I created with not only governments but corporations.
With the internship that helped me see my strong points and weak points, I am looking forward to the second part of my journey in TNW and definitely looking forward to sharing my experiences with IPM!
A program which prepared me for such an internship with its multidisciplinary course that qualified me to be a part of TNW.
