Inaugural lecture

Global Citizenship is often defined superficially and one-sidedly. This is also the case in our Educational Vision. The superficiality and bias lead to a reduction of what the potential Global Citizenship holds. In the inaugural lecture, Laurence Guérin and her researchers will present their research program, which is based on the following principles:

  1. Recognizing Global Citizenship as a contested concept;
  2. Clarification of the function of Global Citizenship in a professional context;
  3. Emphasis on participation and rights as features of Global Citizenship We discuss the implications of these three principles for THUAS at class, curriculum and organization level. All researchers will present their own research and students will be interviewed.
