In short

Date:

22 - 24 April 2020

Time:

09:00 - 16:00

In 2020 the annual World Press Freedom Conference (WPFC) will be hosted by UNESCO and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The conference will take place on April 22, 23 and 24 at the World Forum in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.

The WPFC highlights the importance of a free and independent media, which is why this year’s title is ‘Journalism without Fear or Favour’. Together, we must take a stand for free and independent media, and protect journalism from persisting and new forms of control. This 3-day celebration features an academic forum, the awarding of the Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize as well as a World Press Freedom Festival.
