In short

Date:

10 December 2019

Time:

15:30 - 17:00

On December 10 there is an I for Involvement session in which Rhea Eelthink and Sekano Ntoane will tell about how the norm can cause 'pressure' on the body and the mind.

Rhea is going to talk about her research on Fat-Shaming, which we are far too little aware of and rarely talk about, while this can have a huge impact on self-confidence. The norm, which we supposedly have to meet, is being questioned and we are investigating together what needs to be done to change this cultural trend that results in pressure.

Sekano is going to let us experience how conscious we are or can become of our body. Our head is the instrument that we use and need for studying and for our work, but what about our body? The pressure that we experience to perform means that we often underestimate the attention and care that is needed to keep our body and through that way our head healthy. We will examine together whether this holistic way of taking care of yourself is essential.
