Formula Cruisers Roll Out
22 June 2017
15:00 - 16:00
On the 22nd of June, we will be hosting a roll out at The Hague University’s Delft Campus to show off our finished car for the first time.
Over the last two years, a project right here at The Hague University has been gaining speed. The goal? To build an electric race car. Every quarter since then, students have joined and left the project bringing new ideas and new skills with them, but that dream has remained a constant for everyone who has worked on the car. We are the Formula Cruisers. Made up of students from across Europe as well as many from here in The Netherlands, we all put aside our backgrounds to work together, sharing knowledge in all our different disciplines to become more than the sum of our parts. The journey has not been an easy one and we have had both difficulties and successes every step of the way. This is what we expect and it is what we thrive on, as the lessons all of us have learnt will help guide the students that continue the project after we leave, but they will also guide us in the rest of our education and careers.
In just a few weeks’ time, we will face our biggest challenge yet, and probably learn some of our most important lessons. We will pack up our much-loved car and set off to help it achieve what it was always destined to: race. First, we will be going to a preseason event run by EVO Days in Hasselt, Belgium, followed shortly after by the main event: a Formula Student competition in Silverstone, England. Just to have qualified for these prestigious events is a huge achievement for such a new team, but our ambitions are set higher than this: we want to go there and show teams from around the world what The Hague University can do and how competitive we are.
Before we display our work on a global stage, however, we have an event that is just as special to us that is much closer to home. On the 22nd of June, we will be hosting a roll out at The Hague University’s Delft Campus to show off our finished car for the first time. We would love to have as many students and teachers from the university there to share the moment with us and hopefully be proud of the achievements of your very own racing team. If you would like to attend please RSVP at the attached link.
