About COIL

Collaborative Online International Learning involves courses, projects and other ‘virtual mobility’ activities that bring university students and faculty together across borders, using technology to create interactive international learning environments for meaningful cross-cultural collaboration and learning.

COIL is also a worldwide network of international educational professionals and The Hague University of Applied Sciences is proud to be a key part of that network. THUAS has a strong internationalisation policy that includes the integration of COIL throughout the institution to provide students in all faculties with opportunities for international and intercultural learning.

The European Coil Conference

The European COIL Conference aims to gather experienced COIL collaborators together to exchange ideas and pursue new partnerships, while also bringing new talent into the fold and adding new links to the COIL chain. The programme offers something for everyone, from seasoned COIL collaborators looking for new partners and possibilities, to virtual mobility beginners looking for a little help getting started.
