Creating online profiles with LinkedIn

When you are looking for a job, a presence on LinkedIn is almost indispensable. You can use LinkedIn to find jobs but also to raise your profile as a specialist and let employers find you.
Why might this training session be useful for you? You know that LinkedIn is the largest business social network in the Netherlands, but perhaps you have never taken the time to fully get to know it. Your profile is not optimally filled in and you are not quite sure how you can get more out of LinkedIn. Or perhaps you don’t even have a LinkedIn profile yet.
You’re not the only one! Attend this LinkedIn training session and together with other alumni and graduates from The Hague University of Applied Sciences you will get to work on:
- Creating and/or optimising your profile
- Expanding your network
- Actively using the timeline on LinkedIn
- Asking for and providing references
After completing this training session you will understand how LinkedIn works and you will have a good grasp of the basics. Our photographer will be on hand this evening to take your portrait photo which you can use for your LinkedIn profile!
The training session will be held in English
Former students and graduating students of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
You are welcome from 6.15 pm for a cup of tea or coffee and to have a professional portrait photo taken for your LinkedIn profile. We will start the training session at 7 pm and the main programme will end at 9.30 pm. After the session we will walk over to Café Xieje for a drink (until 10.00 pm).
The training session will be held at the Speakers’ Corner on the main campus of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
We request that participants pay a small contribution for the training session: 15 EUR for graduating students and 25 EUR for alumni. You will receive:
- a professional portrait photo for your LinkedIn profile
- drinks at the networking get-together after the training

Please note: Your participation fee will not be refunded if you are unable to attend. We require a minimum of 20 registrations to hold the training session. The participation fee will be refunded if the training session is cancelled due to a lack of registrations.
About the trainer
Rob Speekenbrink set up the online communication firm Noscura in 2015 with his colleague from Delft University of Technology, Karlijn de Wit. The firm advises organisations on content creation, online customer support and social media use. Rob holds workshops, writes a blog on online communication, speaks at conferences and gives guest lectures. Rob studied Industrial Design Engineering at THUAS and graduated in 1998.
