Stukafest visits The Hague

On Valentine’s Day, student city The Hague will welcome its first-ever edition of the well-known national Stukafest student festival.

Following previous editions of the StudentRoomFestival ( StudentenKamerFestival or Stukafest) in cities such as Nijmegen, Leiden, Utrecht, Groningen and Delft, residents of The Hague and its surrounding area will now get the opportunity to enjoy live music, theatre and stand-up comedy in the city’s student rooms on 14 February.

Stukafest is a broadly-oriented festival based around performances in student rooms rather than theatres. The night will start with a shared meal known as Stukahap, in Theater aan het Spui. Each visitor then selects a programme of performances in 3 student rooms. The evening will end with a party in the Supermarkt concert venue on the Grote Markt.

This year’s edition of the festival is being organised by the ACKU cultural agency in collaboration with several students from The Hague. The municipality of The Hague and the city's various higher education institutions have developed a plan to turn The Hague (already home to 35,000 students) into a genuine student city. As a first step, the parties have organised the annual student introduction event “Oh Oh INTRO”. The addition of the broadly-oriented Stukafest should help lend the city a vibrant student culture.

Amongst other acts, this year’s programme will include Splendid, Matroesjka, Boozy (Puur Gelul) and Friends of the Family. Tickets are available for €4.50 per round and €14 for the entire festival (including access to the party in Supermarkt). The tickets can be purchased from and the ACKU's office at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The first 100 people to buy a ticket for the entire festival will receive a unique Stukafest shopping bag filled with goodies. Make sure to order on time!

The Stukafest festival aims to actively and receptively involve students across the Netherlands in the arts and culture. The StudentRoomFestival is a high-quality, affordable and unique festival that is organised for and by students in a professional manner.
