The Hague University             Bachelor Studies

Entrance requirements

You need to be highly motivated and independent to take the IBMS programme. If you are interested in meeting people from different backgrounds and want to work in international business – you’re most of the way there. But there are certain academic requirements you will need.

If you have a Dutch diploma

Please see this page (in Dutch) for the specific entrance requirements.

Note: if you have obtained a HAVO/VWO/MBO 4-diploma in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius or St. Maarten, this will be treated as a Dutch diploma.

If you have a non-Dutch diploma

We’ll need to assess your secondary school certificate, before we decide on your eligibility. To make sure your certificate is judged fairly, we work together with NUFFIC, an organisation specialised in comparing international qualifications.

One of the eligibility criteria is that you passed your exams in at least one of the following subjects: mathematics, economics, or business studies.

English language skills

In case you do not hold an English secondary school diploma (diploma granted in a non EEA country) or you have not taken English as an exam subject (diploma granted in the EEA) prior to your enrolment for an English Bachelor programme, you must show an IELTS or TOEFL test. Contrary to what Studielink tells you, you have to register for this test yourself.
