Digital payment authorisation

Since the summer of 2011, The Hague University of Applied Sciences makes use of a digital payment autorisation in Studielink for the collection of the tuition fees. (This means you won't receive a paper payment form anymore.)

arrow Note: it is by far the most convenient if you pay the tuition fees yourself. If someone else (for instance your parents or your employer) is paying on your behalf, the easiest thing to do is to indicate in Studielink that you pay yourself, and ask this other person to transfer the money to your bank account. Please see the ' Someone else pays' paragraph for more information.

Below you'll find instructions for digitally authorising the payment of the tuition fees in Studielink.

Enter the payment details

To enter your payment details for the digital authorisation, you select the option "Enter your payment details" under "My To Do List". You need a Dutch bank account to be able to pay by digital authorisation. You then complete the "Please enter the payment details" form as follows

  • Enter who is to pay your tuition fees and how they are going to pay.
  • Select the "Digital authorisation" option under "Please enter payment details".
  • Enter the account holder’s details.
  • Confirm the payment details.

The payment details are now sent to The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Confirm the digital payment authorisation

arrow Note: confirmation of the digital authorisation is expected to be possible from June 2012!

When the option "Confirm digital authorisation" is visible under "My To Do List", you can confirm the digital payment authorisation as follows:

  • Select the link "Confirm digital authorisation".
  • Check the payment details on the next page.
  • Tick the box 'I declare...' if you agree.
  • Confirm the authorisation.

The digital payment authorisation will now be sent to The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

arrow Note: with the digital paymemt authorisation you give your institution for higher education permission to withdraw the tuition fees from the concerning bank account.

Someone else pays

If someone else pays the tuition fees on your behalf, please pay attention to the following issues:

  • Several payment details, such as the number of instalments, cannot be changed by the person who pays the tuition fees. Please consult this person on the number of instalments first.
  • Studielink will send you an email with further payment instructions. You have to forward this email yourself to the person who pays the tuition fees.
  • The person who pays the tuition fees must log in with DigiD to confirm the digital authorisation. If this person does not have a DigiD login code, he/she must apply for a DigiD login code first.

  • After the payment has been digitally authorised, you have to confirm this yourself once more. If you forget this, the digital payment authorisation will not be sent to The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

arrow Note: companies and organisations do not have DigiD, and therefore cannot digitally authorise a payment. If your employer pays on your behalf, you (together with your employer) have to fill in a 'Garantieverklaring' instead. (Unfortunately, this form is only available in Dutch.) On this page, you can download the form 'Garantieverklaring'.
