The Hague University             Bachelor Studies

Bachelor Studies

At the Bachelor’s level, we expect our students to be active, independent, self-motivated learners. On top of lectures and trainings, you’ll work on group projects, look at real-life scenarios and work with real companies. As part of our Talent Development program, you’ll also help tutor and mentor other students, on campus and in local schools and community colleges.

Shape your own studies

On our Bachelor’s programmes you have the freedom here to choose subjects that suit your career ambitions. There are about 46 study programmes, in total. As well as a major, you can also choose to minor – specialising in a particular field.

We offer nine full-time Bachelor’s degrees entirely in English, with an international focus

Full-time, part-time or dual course

Full-time students attend daytime classes, and work on practical assignments and group projects. It normally takes four years to finish, but some programmes offer the possibility to graduate in three years depending on your prior education.

Dual course* is much the same as full-time, but part of the year is spent doing paid work (in fact, some of our Bachelor’s are full-time for the first two years, then dual course for the rest). It normally takes 4 to 4½ years to finish.

Part-time students* attend class for two evenings a week, and are expected to study for 10-15 hours a week. Most part-time programmes also involve doing some relevant work experience (in fact it’s a pre-requisite for some part-time programmes). It can take anything from 3 to 5 years to finish.

* These programmes are only in Dutch!
